Clinell Chlorhexidine Wash Cloths - Finalist in the Nursing Times Product Awards 2010

GAMA is delighted to have Clinell Chlorhexidine Wash Cloths - developed with the Royal Free Hospital Infection Control Department - nominated as a finalist in the Nursing Times Product Awards 2010. This award recognises the positive impact that a device or product has on infection prevention and control in reducing risk of infection and contributing to reducing infection rates. Clinell Alcoholic 2% Chlorhexidine Wipes reduce catheter-related blood stream infections by 75% at the Great Ormond Street Hospital, London

The introduction of chlorhexidine was followed by a profound, sustained fall in catheter-related infections. The results support the 2007 United Kingdom guidelines recommending 2% chlorhexidine in 70% isopropanol as a disinfectant of needleless connectors and hubs of central venous catheters.
